I am working on collecting scripture and poetry for labor. If you have any you'd like to share, please leave me a comment with your favorite verses or poem. I will truly appreciate it!

Here's something God and I are working on:

as you descend,
i will receive you, uplift you, feed you,
shelter you in your newfound womb of my arms
withholding this world with my right
drawing you further into my heart with my left
&, although i am limited by my strength alone…
i stock my trust in Greater arms that have consoled me
that this shall be the way it is until I can hold you no more.

Uh…I am still working out the kinks though. ☺

Love, Kelly

OK I sent this to you... it is not a scripture... but it is something that I really related to as I neared the end of my pregnancy and birth approached.

I Will Not Die an Unlived Life
Dawna Markova

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance,
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom,
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.

Oh and one more thing.. ask J for scripture because she gave me her book of scripture and it really got me through there at the end. I read it like I was cramming for a final or something!
I had it at the birth and had Vyk read it to me too, great stuff.
J, if you read this... thanks!
