A Benediction for Fathers
In the beginning, from the womb of His hand
caked in sand, birthed into form
a place for His very heart: a son of His own.

Raised on wisdom, feasted on eons of passion, lullaby’d to an eternity of dreams—
meticulously drafted, designed, hand-crafted…
appointed to appreciation, the overseer to love and care for all creation:
to father the new, the fresh, the weak,
to minister the orphaned, the old, the outcast on the street.
But guard not by back and brow alone,
as you know the tenderness of woman is from what you are sewn
and wisdom, yes, of the Word emblazoned upon your soul.

Never left alone by grace, know the All Father who made you at will…
is yearning to guide & walk beside you still.

May the grace, mercy, and peace that come only from God the Father and our Lord Jesus the Liberating King mark your life and the lives of everyone touched by your words and deeds.*

love the father's day benediction, kelly!
and love the fact that you worked your husband's name into it... you did that on purpose... right :)
