here's a poem i wrote when i was supposed to be writing the benediction for Sunday. I decided some parts worked in the benediction as well, so i used them for the blessing. i hope you are blessed in the space you are at today!

i used to talk to trees
sing, until their branches twitched in applause
(as if their purpose
was to raise little girls—)

they’d pull me up
to nest in their dreams;
fully embraced,
their breath became my own.

—love was our oath—

and i,
i’d hang from my knees
stretch for the depths of earth
and though my arms refused to root,
i was their own—
they twisted up my hair by their wind
drew me to sky upon their swing
tossed me bough to bough
until i became the laugh lost to land

—forever was a dream, for winter lay cold within them—

i pledged to grow wild beneath the might of oak,
plucking constellations as they sprung from the ground
stealing sun’s first kiss upon my nose
i opened my ache to the Planter of Souls
pressing in, to hear my name beating beneath the bark…

‘child’

yes, this is me,
claimed, freed: known.
i used to talk to trees—
Love was our oath

and i
i moved freely within it.

I got double tagged!! I'd swear 'NO FAIR' but I already have five random facts posted so I can make up the difference...I think!

The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (**if you’re a non-blogger, you can email them!)
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

8 Random Facts or Habits about me:

1. I am a hopeless romantic.
2. I think women should look and feel like flowers...I say that in the most feminist of ways. ;)
3. I hate perfume, but love cologne on men.
4. I would like to adopt a child.
5. My kids make me laugh and smile all day long. Frequently during the day I think my heart is going to jump out of my throat and dance before me.
6. My heart breaks when I see obese children. I have so much compassion and fear for their health. I am praying on how I can do more to help mom's learn how to nourish their kids in a time where convenience takes priority over content.
7. I can't sing, although I wish I could!
8. One day, I'd like to write a novel, I have two in mind.

OK, Tag, you're it: Kathy & Audrey, and...I will try to find others who haven't been tagged yet!!

It's been awhile!

I need to gain a better habit of keeping up!

I love finding more and more of my friends' blogs. I feel connected and secure, like I am still keeping up even though I feel like we've been on another planet for a month or so!

Ok, what's new? We're reversed! Uh, now what??

I've gained much ground with the help of a friend in getting ready for homeschooling. I have a list of books to order when I am ready and a list of projects to get done in August! Great!! Anyone want to come help? :) I'll make you a smoothie!! I think I will be spending a great bit of time up in Wimberley at my dad's building and exploring with the kids. Well, not a great bit, but more than I have ever been. We love to go there.

Actually, I am already started on the projects, now the kids and I just need to get to Hobby Lobby and pick out their fabric so I--I mean they--can sew their curtains. It will be fun. We'll measure and cut and all that jazz. :)

I am almost officially done translating Paul. All that is left is the proofing of 2 Corinthians after David is done. It's an amazing relief! Each day I am unwinding more, although I'd never trade that experience for the world. Thanks, God!!

Noelle and Gabe are going to be in a Musical called Seussical tomorrow night, and we are SO excited. Noelle wasn't even going to audition, and then scored a solo singing part!! I am super proud of her, and praise God for sending her courage. Gabe's a monkey (hee hee...what a stretch!!) Hanna and Trinity will be in the play as well, and Hanna scored a great part and a great dance as I understand, and sweet Trinity will monkey around with Gabe. I just can't wait!

I haven't been writing much, but I feel inspired. I am ready to paint and write and be present again. I am more and more motivated with raw nutrition the more I get cleaned out and rejuvinated. I have been all raw with the exception of popped corn the last week or so. I think I have found my balance! I am going to aim for a liver-gall bladder flush after CYT. I want to get it done incase I get pregnant soon. Just to make sure I get as much out as I can!!

Ok, my really funny friend posted "five things you may not know about me" and I thought it was so cute...here's mine...

One. I didn't graduate from college. (Apparently dropping classes isn't a major.)
Two. I have always hated sea food. Always. Yes, really.
Three. I am thinking about changing my family's last name to Gallagher.
Four. I have four generations alive on both sides of my family.
Five. I am short. (Shocking, I know.)

Ok, ok...Five for real. I love anything blue.

Whew! That was hard!
